ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that India has made a grave mistake by resorting to aggression last night, and it will now have to face the consequences.
In his brief address to the nation, the prime minister said: “They must have assumed we would retreat, but they forgot this is a nation of the brave, steel-willed, battle-hardened, and ready to defend the honour and sovereignty of its homeland till the last drop of blood,” he said.
Sharif said that the entire world witnessed how a numerically superior enemy was brought to its knees in a matter of hours. “By the grace of God, our falcons unleashed a storm in the skies that made the enemy cry out. Five Indian warplanes, once a symbol of their pride, have now been reduced to rubble and ash—mere relics of humiliation.”
The prime minister said that Pakistan’s response was crushing and resounded with the spirit of Squadron Leader MM Alam. “Last night, that roar echoed again, and our falcons struck blows so deep that even time will fail to heal them.”
He went on to condemn India’s cowardly attacks, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians and left 46 injured, including women and children.
“I just returned from the funeral of a child. He was only seven years old, at home with his mother and brother when shrapnel hit him. He returned to his Creator before he could even fully experience life,” he said. “With hand on heart, tell me—how can we accept a little flower to wither before it could even bloom?”

Shehbaz Sharif said the nation pays tribute to all its martyrs who attained the highest honour of sacrifice, and stands in complete solidarity with their families, while praying for the swift recovery of the injured.
“We vow that every single drop of our martyrs’ blood will be accounted for,” he declared.
It is worth noting that India launched an attack on civilian areas in Pakistan under the cover of darkness last night, effectively declaring war. In response, Pakistan’s armed forces struck back with force, downing five Indian warplanes—including three Rafales—and destroying multiple military posts, including a brigade headquarters.
Later, the Indian army raised white flags over the Churrah Complex along the Line of Control, accepting defeat.
