LAHORE: The 981st annual Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) will be observed on August 26, Monday. The High Court has declared a holiday for the courts to commemorate the annual Urs of Data Ganj Bakhsh.
However, the Punjab government has not yet announced a public holiday.
Last year, the Punjab caretaker government declared a public holiday on September 7 for the 980th annual Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA). The announcement was made in early September.
It is expected a similar public holiday for the 981st Urs on August 26 will be announced around August 24 this year.
If a notification is issued declaring a public holiday, all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities in Lahore, will remain closed on August 26.
