Will Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize this time? – HUM News


WEB DESK: The Nobel committee is set to announce the winner of the Peace Prize today and one person, US President Donald Trump, is quite eager to become a recipient if they are chosen. Trump, who has been tooting his horn about ending eight wars, most recently the peace agreement between Hamas and Palestine, aspires for Nobel Peace Prize owing to his mediation.

If Trump wins, he will become the fifth American president to receive the honour, with Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama having previously won the same. Trump claims to have halted wars between India and Pakistan, Iran and Israel, andis said to have stopped conflicts between Egypt and Ethiopia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Cambodia and Thailand. He reportedly ended the wars between Kosovo and Serbia, Congo and Rwanda as well.

Nobel physics prize goes to pioneers of quantum mechanics

The Nobel Peace Committee, in its final meeting on Monday, reviewed 338 nominations, which includes Baloch Yakjehti Committee leader Mahrang Baloch as well. Pakistan has also endorsed President Trump for the award for stopping the India-Pakistan escalation in May.

Pakistan also has a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Malala Yusufzai who received in 2014.
