THE HAGUE: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he thinks Israel and Iran would not go to war again and reminded the audience that he had ensured ceasefire between the two countries.
Addressing a press conference after the NATO summit, Trump said the two countries were “tired” and “exhausted” and had fought “viciously”, as he replied to a question in which a reporter asked him about the reason behind his confidence.
However, Trump said Iran would never be able to develop nuclear weapons, as he again reiterated that the US strikes had completely destroyed the country’s installations.
At the same time, he compared bombing Iran and the US dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
He said nuclear bombing of Hiroshima ended the WWII and his administration decision to go for US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities stop the war in Middle East.
Meanwhile, Trump asserted that the US-Iran talks might be held next week.
About his earlier statement in which he had asserted that China can continue buying the Iranian oil, Trump told reporters that it was up to China to procure oil from Iran or the US.
