WASHINGTON: United States President-elect, Donald Trump, declared the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director’s, Christopher Wray, resignation announcement as a “big day” for Americans.
The FBI director announced intention to resign at the end of US President, Joe Biden’s term in January 2025.

This will clear the path for Donald Trump’s preferred candidate, Kash Patel, to take over the command of the powerful agency.
According to Fox News, Christopher Wray director stated that “after weeks of careful though, I have decided the right thing for the bureau is for me to serve until the end of the current administration in January and then step down”.
The FBI director talked about this dedication to the agency’s mission. “This is the best way to avoid dragging the bureau deeper into the fray while reinforcing the values and principles that are so important to how we do our work”.
The Republican Party member welcomed Wray’s resignation, declaring that this would put an end to “weaponisation” of what “the United States Department of Injustice”.
In an interview to the Fox News, the upcoming president heavily criticised the FBI director by alleging that under his leadership, Trump’s house was ‘unlawfully’ raided.
Trump also condemned the FBI director’s work in impeaching and indicting the former reality media mogul.
Meanwhile, Trump was all praises for his chosen nominee, Kash Patel. The upcoming US president described him as “most qualified nominee to lead the FBI”.
He also claimed that under Patel’s leadership, law and order would be restored.

Christopher Wray intended resignation occurs as Donald Trump prepares for his second term in the White House.
Despite his impeachment and allegations of attempted coup, Trump defeated Democratic Party nominee, Kamala Harris, by a wide margin in November 5 US presidential elections.
