WASHINGTON: The White House’s official Instagram made a dystopian post on Wednesday, showcasing the deportation of illegal immigrants.
The video showed the deportation process in which migrants’ wrists and ankles were chained before being led onto a plane. The post was captioned as “ASMR: Illegal Alien Deportation Flight.” The same video was also posted on the White House’s official X profile, and re-posted by the social media platform’s owner, Elon Musk, not long after.
Musk wrote “haha wow” in the caption of the post.
Some social media users highlighted the barbaric nature of the video, with one Instagram user writing “what a sad video and inhumane show…not to be proud of.”
Another user wrote “This is DISGRACEFUL & SICK.”
Similar sentiments were shared on X. One user wrote “The f*** is wrong with you? Eat shit, you monster.” Another user wrote “So you think that’s funny? You sound proud of this. Shame on you, and that imbecile Trump.”

However, there wasn’t any shortage of support for the cruel treatment of migrants in the white house’s video, and the extremely crude caption.
“I used to have huge empathy regarding all these matters but now it’s been totally used up. Let’s get back to having complete contempt for all those who break the law and raise those who don’t,” an X user wrote.
Another stated that they “hope the jingle-jangle of shackles reminds them that crossing into the United States of America illegally IS A CRIME.”
Another video regarding illegal immigrants was posted on the White House’s Instagram showing US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem sending a “chilling warning to illegal aliens.”
“Let me deliver a message from President Trump to the world,” Noem begins.
“If you are considering entering America illegally, don’t even think about it. Let me be clear, if you come to our country and break our laws, we will hunt you down.” The video goes on to conflate migrants to criminals, as US president Donald Trump and his administration are known to do.
Deportation Statistics:
In January, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Caleb Vitello ordered his agents to aim for a daily quota of between 1,200 and 1,400 arrests, seemingly in response to Trump’s anger that more people were not being deported.
The Department of Homeland Security stated that by February 3, there had been 8,756 “immigration violator arrests,” and that there had been 5,693 deportations of people from 121 different countries.
Local media reported that Pakistanis were among those arrested for illegally staying in the country.
