PAPUA: An earthquake of magnitude 6.7 struck Papua province in Indonesia on Thursday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said. The quake was at a depth of 70 km (43.5 miles), USGS said.
The epicenter of the quake was about 200 km from the city of Abepura, which has a population of over 62,000, according to USGS. According to Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, Dan Geofisika (BMKG) Indonesia, the earthquake occurred with magnitude: 6.6 SR, 61 km NorthWest of Sarmi-Papua

Earlier, on October 10, two powerful offshore earthquakes had struck off the coast of the southern Philippine, triggering a tsunami warning for Philippines and Indonesia.
The earthquakes left at least seven people dead and caused damage to infrastructure in towns near the epicentre. Authorities had also warned of the potential for strong aftershocks.
