KOLKATA: Members of the LGBT community showed solidarity with protesting doctors in eastern India’s Kolkata city on Tuesday (August 20) night.

Carrying lit torches in hands, the members marched demanding justice for a 31-year-old trainee doctor who was murdered and raped inside her college on August 9.
India’s top court taking urgent cognizance of the case of Tuesday constituted a national task force to recommend provisions for improving the security and safety of medical professionals.
However, the protesting doctors said they would not budge till their demands were met.
A police volunteer has been arrested for the crime and the federal police have taken over the investigation.
