Foreign ministers gather in Istanbul for key Gaza summit – HUM News

ISTANBUL: A high-level Gaza summit is being held in Istanbul today, hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Foreign ministers from eight Arab and Muslim countries – Türkiye, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia and the UAE – are attending the meeting. Pakistan is being represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Focus on ceasefire and humanitarian situation

The summit will review recent developments in the Gaza ceasefire agreement and assess the overall human rights situation in the region. Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan is expected to highlight Israel’s continued evasion of the ceasefire and its recent military aggression.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan will stress the need for full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and call for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Palestinian territories, especially Gaza.

It is worth noting that violations of the ceasefire agreement by Israel have continued in Gaza. Since the truce was announced last month, Israeli forces have killed 236 Palestinians and injured around 600 others.
