WhatsApp users suffer call disruptions; PTCL contacts Meta – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: PTCL has said that users across Pakistan are experiencing slowness or performance issues with Meta‑owned apps (including WhatsApp), especially during peak hours.

“It has been observed that users across Pakistan are currently experiencing disruptions in making WhatsApp calls only.”

PTCL said that they have added are working together to restore full service as quickly as possible.

Separately, WhatsApp has introduced a new and improved Call Menu in its latest beta update for Android, making the calling experience simpler and more flexible.

This update, marked as version 2.25.5.21, is currently available to a limited number of beta users for testing.

The major change in this update is the replacement of the old voice and video call buttons with a single call button, which appears in both individual and group chats.

For individual chats, the call button initially shows a voice call icon, but when tapped, it brings up a menu where you can choose between a voice or video call.

Additionally, Meta has officially introduced a new feature in WhatsApp that uses artificial intelligence to summarise unread messages. The tool, which was first spotted in testing a few weeks ago, is now available to users in the United States.

This new feature aims to make it easier for people to catch up on messages, especially in busy group chats. Instead of scrolling through dozens of texts, memes, or long conversations, users can now get a short, AI-generated summary that highlights the main points.
