WhatsApp to introduce voice chat feature for Meta AI – HUM News

WEB DESK: WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to interact with Meta AI using voice commands. This feature was recently discovered in the latest beta update for Android, version 2.24.18.18, which is available through the Google Play Beta Program.

The voice chat mode for Meta AI is still under development and has not yet been made available to beta testers. However, its existence has been confirmed by WABetaInfo, a source known for uncovering upcoming WhatsApp features.

This new mode will enable users to have real-time conversations with Meta AI using their voice, offering a hands-free and more natural way of interacting with the chatbot. This could significantly enhance the user experience, as speaking is often faster and more convenient than typing.

Users will also be able to choose a preferred voice for Meta AI’s responses, personalising the interaction to suit their preferences.

In addition to this, WhatsApp is testing a shortcut to quickly activate the voice chat mode. By pressing a floating action button in the chats list, users can start a voice interaction with Meta AI.

For those concerned about privacy, WhatsApp will provide the option to disable voice chat mode at any time by either exiting the chat or switching back to text mode, giving users full control over their interaction with the AI.

This upcoming feature is expected to further streamline communication within WhatsApp, making it easier and faster for users to interact with Meta AI.
