Samsung launches its cheapest A-series smartphone of 2025 – HUM News

WEB DESK: Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A07, its most affordable A-series smartphone of 2025, positioning it as the successor to last year’s Galaxy A06. The launch strengthens the company’s budget-friendly A-series, which has long remained popular in markets like Pakistan.

The phone has first gone on sale in Indonesia at a starting price of IDR 1,399,000, roughly PKR 24,000. In Pakistan, however, buyers should expect a higher price due to taxes and the PTA approval fee.

With the Galaxy A06 currently retailing at Rs27,000, local industry watchers expect the Galaxy A07 to debut locally at about Rs30,000, making it one of the cheapest Samsung smartphones available in the country.

Balanced mix of power and features

The Galaxy A07 features a 6.7-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. It is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G99 chipset and is offered in four different memory and storage configurations, ranging from 4GB RAM with 64GB storage up to 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

The device also comes with a microSD card slot for those who need extra space. A 5,000mAh battery supports 25W Super Fast charging, which is considered a strong addition in this price bracket.

For photography, the phone carries a 50-megapixel main camera supported by a 2-megapixel macro lens on the back, while an 8-megapixel front camera caters to selfies and video calls. Although it lacks 5G connectivity, the device offers 4G support, which remains the most widely used mobile network in Pakistan.

Out of the box, the Galaxy A07 runs on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7.0. Samsung has promised six years of security updates and six major OS upgrades, something not usually seen in this category.

Slim build with better durability, colour options

On the design front, the Galaxy A07 measures 164.4 x 77.4 x 7.6 mm and weighs 184 grams, giving it a slim and lightweight feel. Samsung has equipped it with an IP54 rating, ensuring basic resistance to dust and splashes. The back panel is built with Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer, a material designed to keep the phone both sturdy and light. Buyers will be able to choose from three colours: Black, Green and Light Violet.

Affordable pricing could drive demand in Pakistan

In Indonesia, the Galaxy A07 has been introduced in four variants, with prices starting at IDR 1,399,000 (around Rs24,000) for the base model and reaching up to IDR 2,299,000 (about Rs38,000) for the top-end version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

If Samsung manages to keep the price under Rs30,000 in Pakistan, the smartphone is likely to attract strong demand from buyers looking for a reliable yet budget-friendly smartphone from a popular brand.
