iPhone 16 Pro could be priced the same as iPhone 15 Pro, says Gurman – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: Apple is set to launch its new iPhone 16 series today at its ‘It’s Glowtime’ event, starting at 10:00 PM (Pakistan time). Like every year, the company is expected to reveal several models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Rumours suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro will come with a major upgrade – a 5x optical zoom telephoto camera, compared to the 3x zoom on last year’s model.

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who posted on X (formerly Twitter), the iPhone 16 Pro will be priced at $999, the same as last year, and will include new AI features along with the A18 chipset.

In Pakistan, the price of Apple products is often much higher due to the lack of official Apple stores. Last year, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s price reached Rs900,000 for PTA-approved models. Local retailers set prices based on demand, especially during the launch period, resulting in inflated costs.

Distributors, who handle Apple products in Pakistan, are expected to follow the same trend this year. Some reports suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro Max could be sold for Rs900,000 to Rs1.1 million in the first month of launch, as early buyers are willing to pay ‘anything’ to get the latest iPhone.

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are expected to feature larger displays, 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively, compared to their predecessors. This change shows Apple is focusing more on users who prefer bigger phones.

Additionally, the Pro models might have slimmer bezels thanks to new Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology. If the leaks are accurate, the iPhone 16 Pro series could have the thinnest bezels of any smartphone, even slimmer than the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 9 series.
