WEB DESK: Zeekr unveiled its 2025 model year Zeekr 007 at the Evolution New Generation press conference on the evening of August 13, introducing several significant upgrades.
Notably, the new model features the second-generation Golden Battery, promising enhanced performance and faster charging.
The 2025 Zeekr 007 is available in four distinct versions, each tailored to different preferences and needs:
– Rear-wheel drive intelligent driving: ¥209,900 (approx. $29,350)
– Long-range rear-wheel drive intelligent driving: ¥229,900 (approx. $32,150)
– Four-wheel drive intelligent driving: ¥229,900 (approx. $32,150)
– Four-wheel drive performance version: ¥299,900 (approx. $41,950)
This mid-sized, performance-oriented sedan continues to offer two battery options. The long-range versions retain the 100 kWh CATL Qilin battery, which supports ultra-fast 5C charging. Meanwhile, the new 75 kWh Golden Battery, also known as the Golden Brick Battery, features a notable improvement.
Charging speed has increased from 4.5C to 5.5C, allowing a 10 to 80 per cent charge in just 10.5 minutes, a 4.5-minute reduction compared to the previous generation. Zeekr claims this makes the Golden Brick Battery the fastest-charging mass-produced battery in the world, enhancing the Zeekr 007’s status as the fastest mass-produced EV globally.
The second-generation Golden Brick Battery also maintains the rigorous safety standards of its predecessor, including extreme tests like exposure to 1000°C fires.
Acceleration has also been enhanced across the board. The rear-wheel drive models now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, down from 5.4 seconds.
The all-wheel drive version improves from 3.5 seconds to 3.4 seconds, while the performance version retains its 2.84 seconds, making it the fastest accelerating mid-level pure electric car. Zeekr plans to distribute these performance upgrades via over-the-air updates to existing vehicles.
The 2025 Zeekr 007 comes equipped with the new Haohan intelligent driving 2.0 system, which utilises a combination of Lidar and visual sensors, powered by two Nvidia Orin X chips delivering 508 TOPS of computing power.
This system manages 30 complex driving scenarios with over 95 per cent accuracy and introduces 1000 new traffic scenarios, improving cognitive accuracy by over 120 per cent.
Enhanced parking capabilities include a remote control fingertip parking feature, with future updates set to include full door-to-door driving capability by early 2025.
The upgraded Zeekr OS AI system allows for voice control of all vehicle functions from any cabin location and offers proactive recommendations for various driving scenarios.
Aesthetic updates include new 20-inch wheels, 19-inch multi-spoke wheels with blacked-out styling, a fresh sky green exterior colour, and, exclusive to the four-wheel drive performance version, a shadow black colour. The interior now features a new teal green accent option.
With these updates, the 2025 Zeekr 007 continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology and performance.
