WEB DESK: Apple is getting ready to release iOS 18.2 next month, bringing some exciting new features for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 users.
This update will include improvements to Apple’s AI, such as new tools for creating images and better visual features. There are also some useful controls and features coming with AI updates.
Charging time notifications
The best feature you may soon receive is alerts on how long it will take for your iPhone to reach a specific charge level.
This builds on iOS 18’s existing battery health tools which already include options to limit your charging to 80%, 85%, 90% or 95% to help keep your battery in good condition over time.
iOS 18 also introduced notifications when your iPhone is charging with a slower-than-ideal charger.
Image generation with prompts
A new app called “Image Playground” is arriving in iOS 18.2 allowing users to create images based on prompts you type in much like ChatGPT.
Apple has added categories to inspire you such as themes, locations and costumes. The images won’t look realistic but you’ll be able to choose between animated or illustrated styles.
The app also lets you pull images of friends or family directly from your Photos app to include in your creations. While Image Playground works as a standalone app, it can also integrate with Notes, Messages and even third-party apps.
Full-screen video playback
iOS 18’s release in September brought a big update to the Photos app but not everyone was thrilled with all changes. In iOS 18.2, Apple is tweaking things further.
One major improvement is that videos will now automatically play in full-screen mode without needing to tap the screen to expand the video, a change from the earlier versions that displayed videos with thick borders.
