Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, known as the “Rawalpindi Express,” has shared his predictions for the semi-finalists of the upcoming Champions Trophy.

According to Akhtar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India are the teams to watch, with all three likely to reach the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament.

He pointed out that Afghanistan, with its evolving maturity, could surprise many if their batsmen display more patience. “If Afghanistan’s batters show maturity, they can cause unexpected results,” Akhtar said.

The former speedster also expressed his optimism about Pakistan’s chances in the tournament, particularly in their upcoming clash with India. “I believe Pakistan will beat India on February 23. Both Pakistan and India should ideally meet in the final,” he added.

Akhtar further mentioned that if Pakistan defeats both India and New Zealand, they would have essentially won half of the tournament.

Additionally, Akhtar congratulated the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the upgrade of the Qaddafi Stadium and urged fans to support the national team during the Champions Trophy. He also suggested that questions surrounding team selection should be laid to rest for now.
