The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) has achieved a historic milestone with the unveiling of its 10th edition trophy, Luminara, in the coastal waters of Karachi.

This unprecedented event marks a significant chapter in the league’s legacy, symbolizing innovation, brilliance, resilience, and the essence of Pakistan’s premier T20 competition.

In a thrilling display, Colombian cliff diving star Orlando Duque, with the support of the Pakistan Navy, dove into the depths of the Arabian Sea to retrieve the Luminara trophy.

The spectacular moment was captured in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), where Duque delivered the precious trophy to PSL CEO Salman Naseer and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, among others, on the shores of Karachi.

Crafted from a single sheet of solid silver, Luminara weighs 10 kilograms and is adorned with 22,850 high-luster zircon stones. The intricate stone settings reflect the competitive excellence, energy, and passion that define the HBL PSL.

The name Luminara, derived from the Latin words luminare (torch) and lumens (light), symbolizes the illumination of the league’s journey and its commitment to cricketing excellence over the past decade.

The unveiling ceremony was held in the open waters of the Arabian Sea, with a professional diver retrieving a treasure chest containing the trophy.

This breathtaking display signifies the league’s deep evolution, spirit, and unwavering commitment to innovation. The event was witnessed by HBL, PCB officials, franchise representatives, and cricketers, further amplifying excitement for the upcoming HBL PSL X.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi remarked, “The unveiling of Luminara at sea is a testament to the league’s dedication to excellence and innovation. As we celebrate a decade of HBL PSL, this trophy represents our shining legacy and promising future.”

HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer added, “The HBL Pakistan Super League has always been about pushing boundaries, both on and off the field.

Just like the sea holds mysteries and depth, HBL PSL has been a reservoir of talent, resilience, and sportsmanship. This unique unveiling represents the passion our players and fans bring to the game.”

The 10th edition of HBL PSL will take place in four cities, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, from April 11 to May 18. The opening match will feature defending champions Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
