The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally reached out to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding India’s potential decision to skip the Champions Trophy, set to be held in Pakistan.
The PCB’s letter to ICC leadership requests clarity on several points related to the stance of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The PCB has asked when the BCCI officially informed the ICC of its intent not to send the Indian team to Pakistan and whether this decision was communicated in writing.
The PCB also wants to know the reasons, if any, cited by the BCCI for this possible withdrawal.
Additionally, the PCB has requested a copy of any written statement provided by the BCCI explaining its decision. This information is sought to fully understand India’s position.
The PCB’s letter also inquires if the ICC has issued any response to the BCCI’s stance. Once the PCB receives answers, they plan to consult with legal advisors and discuss the matter with the government to determine their next steps.
Sources suggest that if India’s withdrawal is confirmed, the PCB may choose not to schedule any matches against India in the Champions Trophy. This issue remains sensitive, with decisions pending further ICC responses.
