Since its inception in 1977, the Chicago Marathon has become one of the world’s most popular and prestigious races. The course begins and ends at Grant Park, winding through 29 city neighborhoods, including Lincoln Park, Chinatown, Wrigleyville, and The Loop.
Leading the Pakistani contingent is Faisal Shafi, a veteran marathoner and Guinness World Record holder, who is running to raise Rs 5 million (approximately $18,000) for flood victims in Pakistan. Shafi stresses that this marathon is not just a personal milestone but an opportunity to raise crucial awareness and support for those affected by the floods.
