ICC test ranking: Pakistani batters miss out from top 10


Dubai: ICC has revealed new test cricket batters ranking, no Pakistani batsman in top ten.

England’s Joe Root ascend one spot to reclaim the coveted number one position. New Zealand’s Kane Williamson now holds the second spot, while England’s Harry Brook has made a two-place leap to third. Australia’s Steve Smith also moved up one place to fourth.

In a significant drop, India’s Shubman Gill has fallen three places to ninth. Notably, no Pakistani batter features in the top ten of the Test rankings. However, Saud Shakeel has moved up one position to 12th.

Other notable movements include Australia’s Cameron Green, who surged 16 places to 30th. For India, Ravindra Jadeja climbed five spots to 34th, and KL Rahul also advanced five places to 35th.

In the Test bowlers’ rankings, India’s Jasprit Bumrah maintains his firm grip on the top spot. Australia’s Scott Boland jumped six places to sixth. Pakistan’s Noman Ali holds steady at fifth, while West Indies’ Shamar Joseph made a substantial leap of 15 places to 14th.

Australia boasts a strong presence in the top ten with four bowlers: Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, and Nathan Lyon.

The ICC T20 batter rankings see Australia’s Travis Head retaining his number one position. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal improved one spot to tenth, while South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks dropped two places to 11th. Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are ranked 12th and 13th, respectively.

In the T20 bowlers’ rankings, New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy remains at the top. West Indies’ Akeal Hosein advanced one spot to fourth, and Australia’s Adam Zampa also moved up one place to fifth.
