Champions Trophy 2025: India beat Pakistan by six wickets
DUBAI – India secured a commanding six-wicket victory over Pakistan in their Group A encounter of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan managed to put up 241 runs before being bowled out with just two deliveries remaining in their innings. Their batting effort was led by Saud Shakeel, who scored a well-fought 62, while skipper Mohammad Rizwan contributed 46. However, the innings lacked consistency, as wickets fell at crucial moments.
India’s bowling attack, led by spinner Kuldeep Yadav, kept Pakistan under pressure. Kuldeep was the standout performer, picking up three wickets for 40 runs to restrict the Green Shirts from posting a higher total.
Kohli’s Masterclass Secures India’s Win
Chasing 242, India encountered a few tricky moments but remained in control throughout the innings. Star batter Virat Kohli anchored the chase with a magnificent unbeaten century, guiding his side to victory. He was well-supported by Shreyas Iyer, who scored a composed 56.
India comfortably sealed their second consecutive win in the tournament, reaching the target with 7.3 overs to spare.
With this victory, India further strengthened its position in Group A, while Pakistan now faces an uphill task in the competition.
