Pakistan’s cricket stars, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi, have dropped in the latest ICC T20I rankings after Pakistan’s disappointing 3-0 series loss to Australia.
In the T20I batting rankings, Babar Azam fell from 4th to 5th with 742 rating points, while Mohammad Rizwan dropped to 6th, holding 719 points. Notably, no Pakistani batter is currently among the top 50 in T20I rankings.
India’s Tilak Varma surged 69 places to secure the 3rd spot, trailing Australia’s Travis Head at the top. Varma also overtook Suryakumar Yadav as India’s highest-ranked batter, with Yadav slipping to 4th. India’s Sanju Samson climbed 17 spots to 22nd after stellar performances, while South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs and Heinrich Klaasen moved to 23rd and joint 59th, respectively.
Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis rose to 12th, West Indies’ Shai Hope climbed to 21st, and Australia’s Marcus Stoinis advanced to 45th following his half-century against Pakistan.
In the bowling rankings, Australia’s Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis made significant strides, and India’s Arshdeep Singh climbed to a career-high 9th place. Pakistan’s Haris Rauf gained four spots, moving from 24th to 20th with 601 points. Conversely, Shaheen Afridi dropped 10 places to 24th with 585 points.
All-rounder Imad Wasim, inactive since the 2024 T20 World Cup, fell to 35th, dropping seven spots.
In Test cricket, Saud Shakeel slipped two places to 9th, while Babar Azam climbed to 17th. Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan made progress, securing 19th and 20th spots, respectively.
