KARACHI:: Senior Congress leader and former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin has termed the Indian players’ refusal to shake hands after the Pakistan-India match as against the spirit of the game.
In a TV interview, the ex-cricketer strongly criticized Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and his team’s behavior.
Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin has said that Indian players must send a positive message to the world not only through their performance but also through their conduct on the field.
He noted that cricket has always played a role in easing tensions between Pakistan and India.
Azharuddin added that the Indian players’ refusal to shake hands with the Pakistani team during the recent match was against the true spirit of the game.
