Asia Cup 2025 venue finalized

DUBAI: The venue for the Asia Cup 2025 has been finalized and matches will be held held in Dubai in September 2025.

According to insiders, the event will follow the T20 format, and preparations are being finalized ahead of the official announcement. This edition of the Asia Cup is hosted by India, although the matches will take place at a neutral venue.

Sources also revealed that discussions are underway regarding a tri-nation series involving Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE, which may be played prior to the Asia Cup as part of the teams’ build-up for the tournament.

On the other hand, schedule for Pakistan’s upcoming tour of the West Indies has not yet been finalized, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed a key change to the tour format.

According to sources, the PCB has requested the West Indies Cricket Board to replace the scheduled three One Day Internationals (ODIs) with additional T20 Internationals (T20Is) to better prepare for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

The suggestion, reportedly made earlier this month, comes as the current tour plan includes three ODIs and three T20Is. If approved, the ODI matches would be dropped, and the number of T20Is would increase to five or six, allowing both sides to focus on the shortest format ahead of the global tournament.
