Kuala Lumpur: Pakistan U19 will kick off their campaign in the inaugural ACC Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup against India on Sunday at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Pakistan are in Group A with India and Nepal, while Group B consists of Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.
Under the leadership of captain Zoofishan Ayyaz, Pakistan will play their second match on Monday, 16 December, against Nepal. The six-team tournament will follow a T20 format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super-Four stage. The Super-Four matches will take place on 19 and 20 December, while the final is scheduled for 22 December.
In addition to the Super-Four matches, there will be two other fixtures to determine the fifth and sixth positions (18 December) and the third and fourth places (22 December).
Before heading to Malaysia, Pakistan U19 held a five-day camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi, where they participated in training sessions, fitness drills, skills practice, and matches, all under the guidance of head coach Mohsin Kamal.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Zoofishan Ayyaz said, “We had a good preparation camp before our arrival in Malaysia, and the players are eager to perform well. We’ll take one game at a time and focus on showcasing our talent.”
