LAHORE: YouTuber Rajab Butt has left Pakistan and announced a temporary break from vlogging following recent controversy and legal action against him.
Butt faces allegations of disrespecting Islamic figures in his videos, and a petition has reportedly been filed in the Lahore High Court in this regard.
While he did not disclose his current location, Butt hinted at being abroad during a recent TikTok live session by referring to the time difference between Dubai and Pakistan.
He clarified that although he is stepping away from vlogging for now, he will continue to appear live on TikTok.
Butt also said he won’t upload new vlogs without his mother’s permission, citing her distress over the situation.
He added that his mother, prioritising his safety, personally dropped him at the airport. “I’m not quitting vlogging forever,” Butt said. “I’ll return once the situation settles.”
He also revealed that he has recorded videos to explain his stance and will release them at an appropriate time.
Earlier last night some unknown assailants had fired upon the house of Rajab Butt in the vicinity of police station Chahong.
According to the brother-in-law of Rajab Butt, six shots were fired upon their house. Luckily, no one was present at the house.
Rajab Butt had already left the country when the incident happened.
Earlier this year, YouTuber Rajab Butt was also booked under blasphemy for launching a perfume named ‘295’, which namesakes blasphemy law in Pakistan.
