ISLAMABAD: At least two soldiers were martyred in separate attacks in the Khyber tribal district, bordering Afghanistan, on Friday, security sources said.
A suicide bomber blew himself up near the gate of a security forces headquarters in Tirah Valley, according to security sources.
Several other security men were injured in the attack. Two were registered as critical.
The attack was claimed by Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan (IMP), a coalition of three militant outfits, including the group of Hariz Gul Bahadur, Lashkar-e-Islam and Inqilab-e-Islami Pakistan was launched early this year.
In another incident, a Frontier Corps soldier lost life in a firing at a check post from across the border, sources said.

The soldier Aziz Chitrali was on duty at Shin Kandawo post near the border with Afghanistan.
Pakistani forces returned fire to the direction from where bullets were fired from the Afghan side, sources said.
The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lashkar-e-Islam are active in Khyber district.
‘Take action against TTP’
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister told reporters in Islamabad that Pakistani delegation asked Afghan Taliban leaders in Kabul this month to take action against TTP, keep the group away from the border areas, stop them from using Afghan soil for terrorism and handover them.
He said the Chinese delegation led by Foreign Minister Wang Yi made a similar demand regarding the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM).
Pakistani and Chinese leaders met the Afghan officials in Kabul at a trilateral meeting on August 20.
The trilateral has not issued a joint statement apparently due to differences over the TTP, ETIM and BLA, according to Pakistani sources.
They said China and Pakistan had agreed on the draft of the statement, but Afghan side has not yet agreed to the draft.
