The deadline for paying token tax in Islamabad is 15 days from January 1. If the deadline is missed, it will result in the cancellation of vehicle registration.
The department’s system will automatically flag unpaid taxes, and after the deadline, vehicle owners will face a 200 per cent penalty to reinstate their registration.
Due to the increasing number of defaulters, it has been decided to cancel the registration of vehicles belonging to those who fail to pay their tax, said Bilal Azam.
