ISLAMABAD: An alleged explicit video of Pakistani TikToker Sajal Malik has surfaced online. Malik, who has 176.6K followers and 2.8 million likes on TikTok, could be seen in an intimate encounter with a male companion in the widely circulated clip.
It was unclear when the video was first uploaded on social media, but it quickly spread across various social media platforms in Pakistan.
Her fans have expressed anger over the breach of Malik’s privacy, arguing that the video should not have been shared on social media without her consent.
Her critics, however, said that the TikToker had leaked the video herself in an attempt to gain attention and views.
A wave of explicit videos involving famous TikTokers in Pakistan had recently provoked a fierce debate on digital privacy and cyber harassment, with fans and critics divided over the motives and consequences of these incidents.
Sajal Malik’s case is not an isolated one. In recent months, several Pakistani social media personalities have found themselves targeted by similar leaks.
Pashto poet and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) supporter Mujib Zalmay was also the subject of a viral explicit video, which he dismissed as a fabrication created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
In a video statement, Zalmay claimed to possess the original, unaltered footage but refrained from sharing it publicly, citing cultural sensitivities.
Earlier, transgender activist and TikTok star Gul Chahat similarly fell victim to a privacy breach when an explicit video of hers was circulated online, sparking public outrage over privacy violations and the rise of cyber harassment.
The incident drew widespread condemnation, with many calling for stricter measures to protect individuals’ digital privacy.
Earlier last year, TikTok personality Imsha Rehman deactivated her social media accounts after the leake of her alleged explicit video. The footage’s quick circulation ignited a heated debate over the invasion of privacy in the digital age. While some accused her of seeking attention, others defended her right to personal privacy and criticised the unethical spread of such content.

The recurring nature of such incidents underscored a growing concern over digital safety and the exploitation of private content for viral traction. The lack of stringent legal repercussions for privacy breaches in Pakistan had only fueled the spread of such material, leaving public figures increasingly vulnerable.
