LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced three-month-long holidays for students of special schools because of the alarming rise in smog.
A notification to this effect has been issued on Thursday by the Environment Department.
According to the notification, the special educational institutions will remain closed from November 1, 2024 to January 31, 2025.

All government and private special education institutions will remain closed for three months.
The government also ordered these institutions to make alternate arrangements for imparting education online during these vacations.
“Online classes should be arranged to cover the syllabus,” the notification said.
According to the notification, this step has been taken due to the continuous smog in the provincial capital.
