Punjab government’s counsel Zulfiqar Naqvi appeared in the Supreme Court and sought more time to prepare for the case. CJP Afridi said that the cases in concern are scheduled for tomorrow and the day after. He added, “In the previous hearings, additional prosecutors kept appearing and asking for time. Today you are asking for time. It will not work like this.”

The chief justice said that there are nearly 50 appeals in these cases, and some are related to case transfers as well.

Counsel Naqvi requested the apex court to give him one week’s time. To this the CJP responded that the matter of case transfer has been concluded. He directed the counsel to take instructions from the government on this.
