WEB DESK: On Sunday, most parts of the country will experience hot and dry weather, but some regions can expect significant variations. In Lower Balochistan, rain accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers is forecast, while North Balochistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas may also see similar weather patterns. The Makran region is particularly likely to experience heavy rainfall and gusty winds during this period.

Going region by region, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the weather in Islamabad and the surrounding areas is likely to remain hot and dry on Sunday. However, partial cloud cover is expected at night, with a chance of rain, strong winds, and thunder in a few locations.
In Punjab, most districts will see hot and dry conditions, although there may be rain in Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas during the night.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set for varied weather, with Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Buner, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, Waziristan, Parachinar, and Kurram all having a chance of gusty winds and thundershowers. The rest of the province will likely remain partly cloudy.
In Sindh, rain is forecast in Karachi, Thatta, Sajawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Dadu, and Jamshoro, while other parts of the province will see partly cloudy skies.
Balochistan is expected to experience heavy storms, thunderstorms, and significant rainfall in areas such as Makran, Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara, Gwadar, Turbat, Kech, Panjgur, Lasbela, and Awaran.
Likewise, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will remain partly cloudy, with a chance of strong winds and thundershowers at some locations.
In a related warning issued by the PMD, Cyclone (ISNA) has moved further west/southwestward in the last six hours off the Indus coast in the northeast Arabian Sea and is about 300 km southwest of Karachi, about 230 km south-southwest from Ormara and about 300 km south-east from Gwadar.
Section 144 imposed in Islamabad
The cyclone is likely to move further west-southwest, and can cause strong winds and heavy rain in Hub, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech and Gwadar districts of Balochistan till tomorrow night.
Karachi Division, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Matiari, Jamshoro and Dadu districts of Sindh are also likely to receive light to moderate rain today. However, due to heavy rain in the coastal areas of Makran, there is a fear of inundation of the low-lying areas. Fishermen of Sindh and Balochistan are advised not to venture into the open sea during this time.
