Sunday gets hot and dry, rain predicted for afternoon – HUM News


WEB DESK: On Sunday, the weather is likely to remain hot and dry in most parts of the country, while it will be extremely hot in the plains, predicts the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). However, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas will remain partly cloudy. Rain with strong winds and thundershowers is also expected at a few places across the country.

Going region by region, Islamabad and its surroundings will likely remain hot and dry on Sunday morning and better part of the afternoon. However, it is expected to remain partly cloudy during the day.

Punjab, too, will get hot and dry weather for most districts of the province. However, the plains are expected to get extremely hot. Some areas might remain partly cloudy, including Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sialkot, and Narowal. PMD said that in these regions, some rain with strong winds and thundershowers is also expected.

Likewise, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will get extremely hot weather in most districts of the province. Here too, some places may get rain as the day progresses, including Peshawar, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, and Haripur. Strong winds are also expected in the province on Sunday.

Sindh will get hot and dry weather in most districts of the province including Karachi, with Balochistan, too, remaining hot and dry in most districts of the province while extremely hot weather is likely in plain areas. Strong, dusty winds are likely during this period as well.

For Kashmir, the PMD predicts partly cloudy weather with the possibility of rain with strong winds and thundershowers at a few places. During this period, heavy rain may occur at a few places in Kashmir.

Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to remain partly cloudy with the possibility of rain with strong winds and thundershowers at a few places.
