ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasised the vital role of students in shaping Pakistan’s future while addressing the National Youth Convention in Islamabad today.
“The youth of Pakistan are brimming with potential,” he remarked, noting that it is the younger generation who will eventually take the reins of the country.
Dar stressed that the purpose of education extends far beyond merely obtaining degrees. “Education has always been my priority,” he said, urging young people to demonstrate their abilities as they step into professional life.
He highlighted that education has the power to transform entire societies and encouraged the youth to take full advantage of educational opportunities to contribute to national development.
He also underscored the importance of modern technology, urging young people to leverage it for the country’s progress. “The youth should make the most of the educational opportunities available to them,” Dar stated, while also warning against falling into traps that could lead to violence.
“No one has the right to resort to violence in the name of discontent,” he added.
Reflecting on his past commitments, Dar recalled his pledge in 2013 to end load shedding and put the economy back on track. He urged the youth to reject all forms of extremism and to engage in constructive dialogue. “Differences of opinion are natural, but no one should harbour discontent with the country,” he concluded.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s remarks underscored his long-standing commitment to education and national development, urging the younger generation to play a key role in Pakistan’s future.
