Stricter security measures imposed at Karachi airport – HUM News

KARACHI: Stricter security measures have been introduced at Karachi Jinnah International Airport for those arriving to pick up or drop off passengers.

This announcement comes after a suicide bombing near Karachi Airport on October 3, which resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two Chinese engineers, and left 17 others injured.

Law enforcement agencies have arrested three individuals, including a woman, in connection with the attack.

As per the new security protocols at Karachi airport, all visitors must show their tickets when asked by security personnel. Each passenger can be accompanied by up to four people; however, those without a ticket will not be permitted to enter the airport premises.

Additionally, those arriving to receive passengers must carry their national identity cards, which will be required for verification at security checkpoints while entering the airport’s premises.

This initiative is designed to strengthen security at the airport, and individuals who do not comply will be denied entry.

The new security protocol is expected to take effect soon, with rigorous enforcement by airport security teams.
