Smog, low visibility disrupts flight operations – HUM News

MULTAN: Along with road travel, flight operations at Multan Airport have been severely impacted due to smog and low visibility causing multiple delays since last night.

Several flights have been cancelled and two flights were diverted to Lahore Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Motorway M-1 from Islamabad to Peshawar has been reopened for traffic, according to a motorway spokesperson. However, motorway M-2 from Islamabad to Lahore remains closed for traffic.

Motorway police have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during foggy conditions and to use fog lights when driving.

In Multan, air pollution remains high with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 1009 recorded. Smog in the vicinity of Jaranwala has also reduced visibility significantly, with the area’s AQI recorded at 255.
