Upon receiving reports of the students clash at QAU, police swiftly arrived at the scene with two prisoner vans and an armored vehicle.

During the fight, several rooms were also set on fire by some of the students, which was promptly put out by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) firefighters.

Heavy police presence has been deployed outside the hostel to control the situation.

Eyewitnesses reported that most students were injured due to gunfire exchanged between the groups. Shockingly, the firing continued even in the presence of police.

BOYS HOSTEL CLOSED

A notification issued by the QAU administration stated that boys’ hostels will remain closed from October 11 to 20 due to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.

It directed boarders to leave along with their valuables by Oct 11 (today).
