ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed nine Khawarij (terrorists) in two separate operations in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted an operation in the Dosali area of North Waziristan.
During the operation, six Khawarij were killed and two arrested.
The ISPR said that the second operation was conducted in Isham, during which three Khawarij were killed and two injured in a fierce exchange of fire.
The statement said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the dead and injured Khawarij.
The ISPR said that an operation is under way to clear the area from Khawarij.
It should be remembered that security forces killed five Khawarij terrorists in an operation in Deir Ismail Khan two days ago.
Earlier, security forces had killed 19 Khawarij in three different operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while three soldiers of the Pakistan Army had been martyred.
The ISPR spokesperson had said that eight terrorists were killed in the Peshawar Matni operation, while eight terrorists were killed in the Mohmand Baizai operation, and three Khawarij were sent to hell in the Karak operation.
According to ISPR, a total of 19 Khawarij terrorists were killed in these operations.
According to the ISPR, three soldiers of the security forces were martyred in the exchange of fire.
It should be remembered that nine terrorists including two commanders were killed and seven injured in an exchange of fire with security forces in North Waziristan last month.
The encounter took place during an intelligence-based operation in the Barhu Khel area of Mir Ali Tehsil when the security forces launched the operation after receiving a tip-off about the presence of around 25 militants.
As soon as the security forces reached the spot, a fierce exchange of fire started, which resulted in the death of militant commanders Abdul Haq and Moin and others.
