KHUZDAR: Security forces killed 14 terrorists linked to the “Fitna al-Hindustan” network and wounded more than 20 others in an operation in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, officials said.
According to security sources, the operation was carried out in the Zehri area, where the militants had attempted to harass local residents.
The sources said that security forces foiled the attempt and launched a successful operation, killing 14 militants and injuring more than 20 others.
Several militant hideouts were also destroyed during the operation, the sources added.
Residents of Zehri praised the successful operation, expressing satisfaction over the destruction of militant hideouts and chanting slogans in support of the Pakistan Army.
Security officials said the forces remain fully prepared to eliminate the “Fitna al-Hindustan” network to ensure the protection of civilians.
It may be recalled that on October 1, security forces killed seven members of the India-sponsored group “Fitna al-Khawarij” during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Sherani district.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was recovered from the slain militants, while a sanitisation operation was under way to clear the area of any remaining threats.
On September 30, a suicide bombing at the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Quetta left 10 civilians dead and more than 30 injured, while six terrorists including the suicide bomber were killed in retaliatory fire.
The attack occurred on Khojak Road in Model Town, where a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate of the FC headquarters. The powerful blast shattered windows of nearby buildings and caused extensive damage to parked vehicles.
Security officials had said the explosion was followed by gunfire, sparking panic in the area. They confirmed that among the wounded were two security personnel and four women, with several in critical condition.
