RAWALPINDI: Security forces successfully eliminated seven more militants of the Indian sponsored Khawarij in an intelligence-based operation conducted in Dera Ismail Khan, according to the Intern Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the ISPR, among those neutralized were three Afghan nationals and two suicide bombers.

The operation targeted a hideout of the Khawarij, a group described as an Indian proxy network. ISPR stated that the action was part of ongoing efforts to root out terrorism from the region.

“It is expected that the interim Afghan government will not allow the use of its soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan,” the ISPR added.

A clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining militants of the Indian sponsored Khawarij in the area, the military’s media wing further said.

ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism from its roots.

Meanwhile, security forces also killed 31 Indian-sponsored Khawarij in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the ISPR said on September 15, just days after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Islamabad had told Kabul to choose between Pakistan or the terrorists operating from its soil.

The latest intelligence-based operations were carried out in Bannu and Lakki Marwat, the two districts in southern KPK, the region which is worst hit by the former PTI government’s decision to resettle the TTP members in Pakistan.
