LAHORE: The provincial government enforced Section 144 across Punjab on Wednesday for three days a week, due to security threats.
The home department, in a statement, said that the ban had been imposed on public gatherings, rallies, sit-ins, and protests throughout the province until August 24.
The Home Department has issued a notification in this regard.

Earlier today, the Islamabad district administration decided not to allow the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally in the capital on August 22 on the recommendations of the District Intelligence Committee (DIC).
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Islamabad chief commissioner, said a notification issued on Wednesday.
