WEB DESK: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) on the grounds that it was ‘withdrawn’. Lawyer Faisal Siddiqi, however, contested this development, stating that he did not request the withdrawal of the petition.” He added that a written application to withdraw the petition was submitted without his instructions.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar clarified that the Bar Association’s executive committee had passed a resolution to withdraw the petition. He also noted that the judges affected by the case had already filed separate petitions on their own behalf.
Justice Mazhar further remarked that the petition submitted by the Bar Association was filed without the executive committee’s formal approval, as per the resolution.
