Saudi investment minister honoured with Hilal-e-Pakistan Award – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: In recognition of his efforts to enhance Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, the Saudi Investment Minister, Khalid bin AbdulAziz al-Falih, was awarded the prestigious Hilal-e-Pakistan award on Thursday.

The medal showcases Al-Falih’s role in fostering economic cooperation and diplomatic ties between the two nations.

During a recent meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, al-Falih was warmly welcomed alongside his delegation.

Shehbaz talked about the “longstanding brotherly ties” between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, stating that these connections were becoming increasingly “stronger” with each passing day. He also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s support for Pakistan during challenging times.

The PM congratulated al-Falih on receiving the Hilal-e-Pakistan award. He said it the award was a testament to the Saudi minister’s contributions to the advancement of bilateral relations.

He also conveyed regards for the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Prime Minister recalled his previous visits to Saudi Arabia, including a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Makkah and participation in the World Economic Forum in Riyadh.

He noted that this visit represents the third high-level Saudi delegation to Pakistan within six months, showcasing the growing momentum in the bilateral relationship. The successful signing of various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in April and May further illustrates the deepening ties between the two countries.

The PM also highlighted the progress made through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which has been instrumental in accelerating foreign investment in Pakistan. He apprised the Saudi side of the government’s privatisation programme and invited Saudi Arabia to invest in the aviation sector.
