Samar Haroon Bilour quits ANP to join PML-N – HUM News

WEB DESK: In a significant political development, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Samar Haroon Bilour has announced her decision to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Opposition leader Dr. Ibadullah has exclusively confirmed to Hum News that former ANP leader Samar Haroon Bilour has formally joined the current ruling party.

“Samar Haroon Bilour will be PML-N’s candidate for the Senate elections from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Dr. Ibadullah announced. The development comes days after Bilour’s initial announcement of switching parties, now officially confirmed by senior opposition leadership.

Kundi says no-confidence motion is ‘our democratic right’

It was told that PML-N leaders had contacted Bilour earlier, followed by a meeting invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday. When asked about her reasons for leaving ANP, she cited “personal reasons” but declined further comment, adding she would make a formal announcement soon due to family commitments.

Bilour, who previously served as ANP’s Secretary Information and remained a prominent MPA, brings considerable political experience to PML-N. It is worth noting that Samar Bilour was elected as an MPA from the constituency of her late husband, Haroon Bilour. Some time ago, there were reports suggesting that she might join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). She had distanced herself from party activities due to differences with the Awami National Party (ANP) leadership. Samar also criticised the KP government with regards to their meeting with Governor Kundi. Tomorrow also marks the seventh death anniversary of Haroon Bilour who was martyred in a suicide attack during the July 2018 election campaign.

On the other hand, Haji Ghulam Bilour has decided not to leave the ANP, and according to sources close to him, he will remain with the party. They stated that he has made sacrifices for the ANP and is not parting ways with it.
