ISLAMABAD: The Registrar’s Office has forwarded three names recommended by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Qazi Faez Isa, to the Parliamentary Committee for consideration of the next Chief Justice, sources revealed.
The new three names for the CJP include Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, and Justice Yahya Afridi.
Constitutional amendment lands in the SC
The committee is expected to review these nominations soon and make a decision on the appointment of the new Chief Justice.
This development comes just days before the retirement of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, who will step down from his post on October 25, 2024.
The maiden meeting of the special parliamentary committee to appoint the next Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) for a three-year term will be held later today (Tuesday).
