QUETTA: Train service across the country from cities of Balochistan including Quetta has been suspended today due to the flood situation.
According to railway officials, the Jaffar Express to Peshawar and the Bolan Mail to Karachi have been cancelled as a precautionary measure.
Railway authorities stated that all trains from Quetta to Peshawar and Quetta to Karachi will not operate today, while the Jaffar Express from Peshawar to Quetta has also been cancelled.
Officials added that affected passengers will be given refunds, and the train service from Quetta will resume from Sunday.

Earlier Pakistan Railways had suspended multiple train services across the country after heavy monsoon rains damaged key railway infrastructure and caused waterlogging on tracks.
Officials said the move was aimed at ensuring passenger safety as torrential rains disrupted operations in Punjab, Sindh, and parts of Balochistan. Emergency teams have been dispatched to clear tracks and restore operations as quickly as possible.
Passengers have been advised to check train schedules before traveling.

Railway authorities assured that refund and rescheduling options will be provided. Weather conditions are being closely monitored, and more updates are expected soon.
According to the met office, in Sindh, downpour is expected in the coastal districts, including Karachi, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tharparkar from 30th of this month to 2nd of next month. Urban flooding is also expected due to possible heavy rains in Karachi
Heavy rains are expected in the districts of Interior Sindh, including Hyderabad, Dadu, Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, Jacobabad, Kashmore from 30th of this month to 1st of next.
Rains, with a risk of flooding in low-lying areas, are likely in coastal and eastern districts of Balochistan including Gwadar, Kech, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Lasbela, and Kalat from Friday to 1st of next month.
