Punjab abolishes seniority condition for teacher transfers – HUM News

LAHORE: To facilitate teachers across Punjab, the provincial government has abolished the condition of seniority number for teacher transfers. The decision, announced on Wednesday, has been welcomed by educators seeking transfers.

Teachers now have just 10 days left to submit their transfer applications, with the deadline set for August 31. Applications can be submitted online, although the process has faced challenges due to the high volume of applicants.

The online transfer portal experienced technical difficulties, with many teachers reporting that the link was down. Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat acknowledged the issue, explaining that the system became overwhelmed by the sheer number of simultaneous applications.

Minister Hayat assured teachers that the online application link would be restored today with the assistance of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). He reassured all teachers that they would have the opportunity to apply for transfers before the deadline. – INP
