KARACHI: A public holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in Central Karachi tomorrow, August 29, Thursday.
According to a notification issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of District Karachi Central, ‘all the educational institutions (public/private) within the territorial jurisdiction of District Central should remain close.”
The notification issued on August 8 also stated that the decision to close schools was made based on the recommendation of the School Education and Literacy Department.
All schools in Karachi’s Central District will remain closed tomorrow. This district includes the subdivisions of Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, and Gulberg.

Earlier today, The Sindh Education Department s issued a directive to all district Deputy Commissioners, granting them the authority to announce school holidays across the province including Karachi due to the ongoing rains.
According to the notification dated August 28, deputy commissioners now have the authority to independently decide on school holidays.
