PTI sowed division, now struggling with its own: Tarar – HUM News

GUJRANWALA: Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar on Friday claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), whose leadership once sought to divide the nation, is now facing internal fragmentation and differences.

Addressing party workers at an event in Gujranwala, Tarar said the previous PTI government was involved in political victimisation, claiming that cases were registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders during its tenure.

He asserted that the PML-N had always prioritised public service and worked for the country’s progress.

He criticised the PTI for what he called “damaging Pakistan’s economy and halting development projects” initiated by the PML-N.

Referring to past economic challenges, the minister said that a year and a half ago, Pakistan was on the brink of default, but under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, the country had moved towards stability.

“International financial institutions are now acknowledging Pakistan’s economic progress,” he claimed.

Tarar accused the PTI of promoting divisive politics, saying the party had sown discord among the people, while PML-N had always focused on unity and development.

He also criticised the PTI’s social media campaigns, alleging that they spread hatred and misinformation. “Their politics was not about public service but about personal gains and revenge.”

The minister further alleged that the PTI had “plundered national wealth,” citing the £190 million scandal.

“The world saw headlines about a Pakistani prime minister involved in corruption,” he remarked, referring to Imran Khan.

Tarar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the economy, saying that PML-N, under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, had always led Pakistan out of crises.

He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s policies for putting the country on the path to economic recovery.

“Politics is about serving the people, not spreading hatred and division,” he concluded.
