PTI sets condition to postpone D-Chowk protest on Oct 15 – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has said that it was ready to postpone its planned protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on October 15 if a party leader, or a doctor or a counsel was allowed to meet party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala jail.

The decision was taken at the PTI’s core committee meeting chaired by Barrister Salman Akram Raja last night.

The PTI’s core committee showed willingness to postpone the protest if the party leaders were allowed to meet Imran khan by October 14.

The core committee expressed serious concerns about the health of the former prime minister stating that a doctor, counsel or a party leader should be allowed to visit Imran Khan if the government wants the party to postpone the planned protest.

According to sources, the PTI’s core committee said that if the meeting did not occur, a full-scale protest will held at D-Chowk on October 15.

Some members of the party suggested postponing the protest owing to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s summit, while others, including Shahbaz Gill and Khalid Khurshid, opposed the suggestion.

However, senior party leaders suggested postponing the protest, the sources said.

The PTI members claimed that the government’s ban on meetings with Imran Khan is a calculated move as part of a larger conspiracy.
